Best Rx: Lightbulb Radiology

BSA - Best RXDr. Rourke M. Stay from Lightbulb Radiology answers a reader’s question about image testing.

Q: What should I do if I don’t understand the result of my imaging test (CT, MRI, ultrasound, etc.)?

Get a copy of the report so that you can ask your doctor specific questions about the results. Another idea is to talk directly with a radiologist, a physician who specializes in interpreting imaging exams. This can be accomplished by contacting the radiologist who read your exam, or by using an online service that allows you to have a personal consultation with a radiologist who can help you understand your test results.
