Q: Is the hCG diet safe for weight loss, and does it really work?
A: Doing this type of program on your own can prove harmful, but under doctor supervision, the hCG weight loss program can be safe and effective for weight loss. HCG increases leptin, a hormone which can decrease fat storage. The 500 to 800 calorie diet puts the body in a fat-burning state and is safe provided that it is not sustained for longer than 30 days, proper hydration and supplements are included, and a long-term nutrition plan follows.
