Dr. Louis Prevosti from VEINatlanta answers a reader’s question about the best way to treat facial veins.
Q: What can be done for facial veins?
A: In the U.S., facial veins are treated with lasers. The tiny, thin, red spider veins that can crop up along the side of the nose, cheeks, chin and nostrils can be treated with lasers in the 532 to 940 nanometers wavelength range. The larger blue veins that develop around the eye sockets, temples and the side of the forehead are best treated with a 1064 nanometers laser.
