From June 22-24 come out and celebrate the first annual Chattooga River Festival. This festival is in celebration of the 40th anniversary of the film Deliverance, which made the river and region world-famous.
If you love the outdoors this is the perfect event for you. Starting on Friday, campers get settled into their tents and prepare themselves for the exciting weekend ahead. That same night the Ronny Cox Band will finish the day off with a performance. On Saturday the day is started off by a run with Blue Ridge Mountains surrounding all runners. Whitewater rafting, guided nature hikes, and many other activities available throughout the day.
On the last day of the festival everyone is encouraged to clean up and make the environment a more beautiful place. As the festival comes to an end Deliverance will be shown at The Tiger Drive-in. For more information visit www.chattoogariverfestival.com/events
