Celebrity Chef Alton Brown Shares His Weight Loss Secrets

Fans of Food Network star chef Alton Brown gathered at Gardner Dermatology & Med Spa in Marietta earlier this week for an enlightening and fun talk about how the celebrity chef lost weight after starting a strict diet comprised of certain foods he eats daily, weekly and ones he never eats.

Alton Brown lost 50 pounds using his method and shared it with eager fans. On his list of daily foods were things like nuts and dark leafy greens. Three times a week, this celebrity chef eats oily fish, avocados and yogurt, while once a week he indulges in red meat or treats himself to a martini.

Alton Brown also shared his list of food he never eats, among them were canned soup (because of the high salt content) and diet Coke. When asked if he substituted anything for the lack of soda in his diet he quipped, “heroin,” which drew roars of laugher from his audience. “Actually, I make green tea and soaked fruit in it over night,” he explained. “That got me through not drinking diet Coke.”

Besides getting to spend an evening with Alton Brown, guests also enjoyed healthy bites from Urban Cannibals and a lively presentation from Dr. Gardner. The fun evening concluded with a brief question and answer session with Alton Brown.
