Chef Stone spoke with Best Self Atlanta Magazine about his favorite recipes and gave us some great tips:
What inspired you to write “What’s For Dinner?”
Through being incredibly busy myself, and speaking to tons of home cooks all over the place, and hearing the same thing over and over again: I’m too busy to cook!
What is best piece of advice for people who want to make more time to cook?
Find a recipe that is uncomplicated, with only a handful of ingredients so you can get dinner on the table as quick as possible. My “Five-Ingredient Friday” chapter in my book is perfect for this.
What is your favorite recipe from the book?
The Grilled Vegetable Lasagna with Ricotta-Tomato Sauce. It’s (my wife) Lindsay’s favorite dish in the world and I love cooking it for her. Happy wife, happy life.
What is the one ’time-saving’ gadget that every cook should have in their kitchen?
A sharp knife. It’ll change the way you prep, and people are often slowed down by a blunt knife.
What is your favorite dish to whip up when you are cooking for others?
Grilled Fish Tacos or Two-Cheese Quesadillas with Chorizo and Hatch Chilies. They’re great dishes for a group, and total crowd pleasers.
