Citrus Renewal Massage & Scrub

Person laying down getting a massage.

Four Seasons Atlanta SpaIt had been two months since my last massage. But thankfully, my spa appointment at Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta was right around the corner. I couldn’t wait to check in at the front desk and slip into a quiet state of relaxation. After sitting in traffic for 45 minutes, I was greeted by Cardie McClure whose calming voice settled my frazzled state of mind. She offered me a choice of bubbly or strawberry cucumber mint-infused water. I opted for the water and then headed back to the locker room. On my way there, I saw my favorite yogurt-covered pretzels in a jar. My personal Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta ritual is to get a handful before making it to the locker room. Once I did that and then walked into the locker room, I felt myself unwinding and it reminded me of why I love coming here. I always feel spoiled from the minute I arrive at the property.

After I changed into the hotel robe, I went back to the waiting room and just took in the silence. A little while after, my therapist, Mary Moriaty, arrived. She took me back to the room where I would receive the 80-minute Citrus Renewal Massage & Scrub. Before the treatment began, Mary asked me what I wanted to listen to during our time together. I chose Adele and quickly got lost in her soothing voice.

The service started with a full-body grapefruit and tangerine scrub. What I found fascinating is that the scrub, which is locally made by Mama, was created exclusively for The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta. Mary spent 25 minutes scrubbing every part of my body from head to toe. I felt myself saying goodbye to all of those dead skin cells as I laid on the massage table. When she was finished, she had me step into the room’s shower (where she turned on the water and had a plush towel waiting for me afterward) to wash off the scrub.

Once I got the scrub completely off, I put my hand over my arm and it felt super smooth. I then got back on the massage bed face down and waited for Mary to apply Mama’s grapefruit and tangerine hydrating oil moisturizer. For the next 50 minutes, I was in total heaven. I found myself dozing off and not wanting this feeling to ever end. Mary has the magic touch!

The Citrus Renewal Massage & Scrub is a perfect way to refresh yourself in this summertime heat. If you’re in need of a little R&R, book an appointment at The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Atlanta soon. This seasonal treatment is only available through September 2019.
