What do attendees need to know before class starts?

All members at Concourse get access to free classes. If you are not a member, entry into the club is $25 per person. For this class, all you need to bring is a water bottle and a towel. Arrive to class about five minutes early so you can set up your station prior to the workout.

How would you describe this workout? How does it compare to similar classes you’ve taken?

For this class, we used a mat, stepper with blocks, two sets of dumbbells (light and heavy weight), a small ball, glider disks, and a resistance band. During the workout, we targeted our arms and legs using the resistance bands and dumbbells. We used the small ball to do ab workouts and used the stepper for planks and pushups all while on glider disks to make it more challenging. There is a Lift class at Concourse every day, but the classes are always different so it never gets boring. It’s actually one of my favorite classes.

What muscle groups did this class work the most? Was it a great workout for your abs, butt, arms, etc.?

This workout targets your full body, singling out different muscles during different stages. My back and arms definitely got the most out of the class today.

Did the instructor do anything to make the class extra special?

Kathleen is HILARIOUS. I love her energy and she talks to the class like we are all drinking wine and hanging out. Her workouts are always challenging, but so much fun. She plays the best music and keeps all of us laughing the whole way through. She helps everyone focus on their technique and will urge you to squat lower, go longer, and push harder!

How did you feel before, during, and after the workout?

Before class, I was pretty tired but I go to this class to really tone my muscles. I did a cardio class before this, so I knew I needed to finish strong for the day and target my core muscle groups. During the workout, I was pushing myself and even tried a heavier set of weights than usual. This class really allows you to experiment and try what works best for you and your body with absolutely no judgment. I love all the people in this class, they make it super fun and are always laughing at Kathleen’s sense of humor. Time flies by in this class because everyone has fun. After class, I was exhausted and excited to hit the steam room. I love all the amenities the Concourse offers because it allows you to really give your body all the TLC you need and more after a challenging workout.

What was the most enjoyable part of the workout?

My favorite part of the workout is the weight lifting portions we did as well as the resistance bands. You really get to see all the possibilities a resistance band offers and it’s a really great tool to have both in and out of the gym. I love lifting weights and how strong it makes my arms feel afterward. The music selection is always super upbeat pop music that makes everyone want to dance!

Any other feedback you’d like to give about the Lift workout class?

The Concourse is a workout lovers oasis that provides amazing classes and instructors like the Lift class with Kathleen. I love this class because it’s challenging but Kathleen knows how to always keep it fun and entertaining. She cares deeply about making sure everyone is happy and healthy in and out of the gym. Concourse is my home away from home, and I would absolutely recommend this facility to anyone looking for a new club to join. This club is all about family and you feel it immediately and make friendships that extend outside of the gym.
