What do attendees need to know before class starts?

Parking in the garage under the studio is free for the first two hours. Sticky socks are required, as well as tennis shoes. If you don’t have sticky socks, SculptHouse sells pairs at the front desk and will give you 50 percent off your first pair. If you’ve never taken a class at SculptHouse before, be sure to arrive early and an instructor will go through a quick tutorial and get you set up!

How would you describe this workout? How does it compare to similar classes you’ve taken?

This class is very concentrated on your core and bottom half. It was a lower-body scorcher with lots of squats, lunges and warrior poses to target your legs and make them shake! This class is a combination of low-impact and high-intensity moves with your strength and endurance being challenged the entire time. None of the equipment is powered by electricity, so you are literally pushing yourself the whole way through. If this sounds like too much for you, a great beginner option would be the 101 Sculpt class, which is held on Saturdays at 11:45 a.m.

What muscle groups did this class work the most? Was it a great workout for your abs, butt, arms, etc.?

Different classes are designated for different parts of the body but every class requires you to use your core. Mondays and Thursdays are upper-body focused, Tuesdays and Fridays are focused on the lower body, and Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays are 360 classes where you target all of your muscle groups. The class I took today targeted my lower body (hamstrings, quads, glutes, inner and outer thighs) and abs! I could definitely feel the burn.

Did the instructor do anything to make the class extra special?

Erica was really great about checking on my form and making sure I was keeping up with the rest of the class. The dance/pop music was playing super loud, which I LOVED because it helped me drown out all of my other thoughts. Also, the lighting in the class would change to red then blue, which was really cool. This studio has a great ambiance and it helped me to really focus on my workout and listen to Erica’s instruction.

What was the most enjoyable part of the workout?

My favorite part of the workout was using the Woodway Curve treadmill and Megaformer. I love how the first portion of the class is spent using one and then the second half is spent on the other. The Woodway Curve treadmill makes you physically push yourself, which gives you an awesome cardio workout, whereas the Megaformer really helps you hone in on those problem areas and work your core and other targeted muscle groups for that day. This really keeps class fun and not overly repetitive.

Any other feedback you’d like to give about this workout?

SculptHouse is for anyone and everyone. Its workout program will help you reach a variety of goals you may have, no matter how unique they may be. The classes are intimate, which allows the instructors to really help you. They will coach you through each movement to ensure you get the best possible workout for your 50 minutes. I would highly recommend SculptHouse to anyone looking to make a healthy change in 2019. The workouts are challenging, but very customizable for any level. The facility and staff are top-of-the-line and you will get a great workout every time you go!
