Dear partners and friends of Best Self Atlanta,
October is officially here. And with it came Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Only a few of us have not been affected by this disease at some point in our lives. Whether a friend, a family member or you personally have been diagnosed, the numbers surrounding breast cancer are overwhelming. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, and in 2014 alone, an estimated 220,000 American women will be diagnosed. More than 40,000 will not survive the battle.
As a business owner and individual, I want to help. But sometimes, I don’t feel like my individual contribution will make a difference. That is why I am asking you to join me—let’s Band Together Against Breast Cancer so our small to medium-sized businesses can come together and make a difference.
The symbol of the initiative is the hot pink headband, and 100 percent of the proceeds benefit Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta to help local women with breast cancer treatment and education. A $250 donation from you will give you 25 headbands for your company, co-workers, friends and family.
Your business (you or a representative from your company) will be invited to participate in a group photo shoot, where we all sport the pink headband. The photo shoot will take place at the Concourse Athletic Club on October 9 and the group photo will be shared on our extensive social media networks and in an upcoming issue of Best Self Atlanta. The shoot will be followed by a networking party that will feature drinks and light bites.
To make our deadline for the photo shoot, become a Give-Back Partner by October 7. Just reply to firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know you want to Band Together with us.
Together we can make a difference for women in Atlanta who are fighting the battle with breast cancer. So let’s Band Together Against Breast Cancer today!
