Atlanta Flywheel’s Erika Carter is here to give you her best advice on lifting a bad mood.
What can trigger a bad mood?
A lack of sleep and poor nutrition can be the biggest mood triggers. Not getting enough sleep can lead to being irritable as well as higher stress levels. These factors can lead to bad choices in nutrition such as overeating or choosing junk food.
What is an easy way you can elevate your mood?
It’s as easy as stepping foot outside your door. Walk outside, take several breaths of fresh air and smile. Smiling can change your mood, relieve stress, and release endorphins.
What saying puts you in a better mood?
My grandfather used to say, “Everything happens for a reason.” Sometimes we have to realize that bad things happen so that even better things can come along.
Where do you go to improve your mood?
Pretty much anywhere I can work out, whether it be outside for a run or to Flywheel. I’m so passionate about teaching that it is an instant pick-me-up! I love the positive energy my students give me.
When all else fails, where can you go for help?
Turn to the people who know you best. They know your ins and outs, and they know what to say to get your mood pointing in the right direction.
