Kick off your July 4 festivities by heading to the Peachtree Health and Fitness Expo July 2-3. Located at the Georgia World Congress Center, this expo will be the largest ever, featuring over 100 vendors from the health and fitness industry.
If you chose to pick up your race number at the Peachtree Health and Fitness Expo, don’t forget to bring your race number confirmation and a form of ID. After picking up your number, browse through the booths showcasing running apparel and gear, nutritional products and other fitness merchandise.
Don’t miss my personal favorite, Phidippides, a local running shoe store with experts that will help you find your perfect running shoe fit. Buy a new athletic shirt or running shorts to don on race day at the Nike, Reebok or New Balance Buckhead booths.
In addition, check out the schedule of seminars. If you’re participating for the first time, learn more about how you can prepare at Tina Klein’s “What to Expect as a First-Time Peachtree Runner” seminar. Other seminars include “Nutrition: Performing Your Best for the AJC Peachtree Road Race” and “Motivation, Overcoming Injuries and Balancing Running and Parenting.”
If you’re feeling extra motivated, visit the Atlanta Half Marathon and Atlanta Marathon booths to sign up for those events, or find out more about running opportunities around the city by visiting the Atlanta Track Club booth.
Bring the kids along to participant in Family Fun Zone activities such as partaking in the Braves BAT Team and Air Illustrations face painting.
Parking for the Peachtree Health and Fitness Expo is available at the Red (International) Deck of Georgia World Congress Center. The Expo will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days and is free and open to the public.
