Playing golf improves your overall health, which is good news for all you golfing guys out there. Here’s how to get fit and healthy with golf:

Take the next step. Health experts say that taking 10,000 steps per day – the equivalent of 18 holes of golf or five miles – will improve overall fitness.

Feel the burn. The total caloric expenditure for an 18-hole round is approximately 2,000 calories for walking while carrying clubs, versus only 1,300 calories when riding in a cart.

Soak up the sun. When you are out playing a game of golf on a beautiful day, you get an adequate dose of vitamin D, which is essential for building strong bones and good overall health.
