Just Dance: EDIN’s Celebrity Dance Challenge

2016 EDIN Co-Chairs - EDIN - BSA 0416

Some of Atlanta’s favorite local celebrities will shake, shimmy and jive for a good cause at the Eating Disorder Information Network’s (EDIN) 6th annual Celebrity Dance Challenge on April 14. Styled after hit shows like “So You Think You Can Dance™” and “Dancing with the Stars™,” this “who’s who” of Atlanta has spent months training with professional dancers and choreographers in order to prepare for their night in the spotlight. They’ll take to the floor at the Buckhead Theatre to perform everything from swing to waltz to break dancing in hopes of winning your vote. The Pair with the most fan votes will claim the title of winner and the bragging rights about their smooth moves. Anyone can vote for their favorite celebrity for as little as $1. Along with the show, guests can enjoy cocktails and light bites while mingling with the dancers. Proceeds from the event support EDIN’s initiative to increase education and awareness about positive body image, self-love and the dangers of eating disorders. EDIN is the only nonprofit in Georgia actively working to make these resources available and easily accessible to all,  regardless of economic status, gender, race or age. Their professional resource network includes mental-health therapists, dieticians, psychiatrists and medical doctors dedicated to helping those suffering with disordered eating. Those looking for help themselves or someone they know can find local support groups on the organization’s website, along with treatment facilities, lists of specialists and other ways to help further the nonprofit’s mission.

Details: Tickets start at $25, myedin.org
