Leslie Walden, from It’s Time to Get Organized, shares her best advice for getting organized.
How does good organization contribute to women’s overall well-being?
Women juggle many roles. When they are organized, they are in a better state of mind and able to focus on what is important. Being organized reduces stress and helps people think clearly.
What is your advice for women who want to be more organized?
Create a master list of to-dos and write down all of your tasks (either on paper or electronically) so you won’t forget them. Now you can use your mind for high-level cognitive tasks such as thinking through ideas, writing reports and researching and summarizing information.
What organizational tip helps you the most?
What a difference it makes when I plan my day first thing in the morning or even the night before! I choose two to three tasks that are the most important and focus my efforts on getting them done. At the end of the day, I feel a sense of accomplishment knowing that I got the important items done.
