Whether you’re hanging out by the pool, enjoying a meal with friends or just taking it easy, summer is great for a lot of fun activities. If you’re a movie buff like me, then the best part of it is undoubtedly all of the new movies that come out. If you’ve never seen a foreign film before, then you’re missing out.
There’s a noticeable (but pleasant) difference in them than what we’re used to seeing from Hollywood. The actors may not be as popular, but some are equally talented. The directing is more intimate, and while the plot lines may be a bit more extreme, they’re crafted beautifully.
In honor of movie season, the Melia Atlanta Hotel is hosting the Cinema at Sol International Film Series. The August line up was just announced, and we’ve got it for you. All dates fall on a Wednesday.
August 3: Oldboy, a film from Korea
August 10: Pans Labyrinth, a film from Mexico
August 17: C.R.A.Z.Y., a film from Canada
August 24: Let the Right One In, a film from Sweden
August 31: Yi Yi: A One and a Two, a film from Japan
That’s only the beginning. Moviegoers will have the ability to sample international foods and wines (in addition to the drink specials) at each screening atop the breathtaking rooftop pool and lounge. There is no cost for admission. The bar opens at 7 p.m., and the screenings begin when the sun sets.
