November is National Prostate Cancer Awareness Month and MOvember. The nickname came about in an effort to engage men (MOBro’s) to grow and women (MOSista’s) to support the Mo (moustache) for 30 days in November.
Through the moustache, awareness and funds are raised for men’s health- prostate and testicular cancer initiatives. For me, being passionate about health and wellness and combining any event in this city with a fitness twist makes me happier than a kid in a candy store. Prostate cancer, has affected many loved ones in my life – my grandfather passed from prostate cancer and my dad is a prostate cancer survivor.
I know a handful of other amazing men that have been recently diagnosed, but they too are and will continue to be survivors. I am impressed with the research and options that continue to be improved upon for those going through this disease but all of us can help as well!
All month long, exhale Atlanta will host two donation classes every Tuesday that are open to the public. (6:15 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.). We will also be hosting two fundraisers for MOvember- November 15th at the W Midtown at Spice Market and November 28th at STK – so check back with me or follow on our team and twitter page.
How do you register? We encourage you to join our team and spread the word to others to join in as well.(us.movember.com/team/514469)
