If you’re wondering who’s got the Swoosh, look no further than the new Nike store at Lenox Square Mall! On Tuesday, October 30, Nike fans gathered in front of the 23,000-square-foot Nike store to witness the grand opening and to do a little shopping. NFL player Hines Ward was also on hand for the ceremonial ribbon cutting, which honored the Butler Street Community Development Center.
The two-story retail space is unique not only because of its special features, like the Nike Touch Screen which allows people to customize the look of the Nike sneaker, but also in its design. One of the members of Nike’s global design team, David Brady, was on hand to explain the concept behind this innovative space. “We wanted to incorporate the local culture of the city,” he explained. Some local touches include banners from local universities and a pictorial tribute to the Butler Street Community Development Center. This eco-friendly space boasts re-claimed gym floors, benches and gymnastic rings, a score board and more.
The store itself has everything a sports and fitness fans could want – a bra bar which includes bra fitting services for women, fuel bands, the famous shoe wall and of course, Nike gear galore. Head to Lenox Mall today to check out all your Nike options!
