Beat the Atlanta summer heat by taking the family to the newly opened splash pad in Perkerson Park, a 50-acre green space located in the residential neighborhood of Capitol View.
Opened in May, the splash pad was the vision of Atlanta BeltLine, Atlanta City Council member Joyce Sheperd and it features the artwork of Maria Artemis in a series of granite boulders that form a fountain and double as seating. Kids can play around the in-ground spray elements for a refreshing good time.
Besides frolicking in the water, park-goers can also enjoy using the park’s tennis courts, basketballs courts, a playground, ball fields, walking paths and more.
770 Deckner Ave., Atlanta, GA 30310, www.perkersonpark.com. There is free parking available along Deckner Ave. and in a parking lot next to the playground.
