Wow! November is my birthday month and for the first time ever, the realization of my age is almost hard to believe and makes me freak out a little. On this birthday, I will turn 55. My daughter is a senior in high school and she has “Senior 2012” written on her car…I guess I can write “Senior 2011” on mine as well since we are both seniors! How did this happen? Where did the time go? And oh, by the way, I still have so much to do!
The truth is I feel like I have finally lived enough life to actually know what I want out of it and how I want to live it. I am so lucky to have my family, friends and business, and every day I am thankful for my health. I feel good and at peace. I am excited about the journey ahead, and that is worth celebrating!

West Coast Workout : As a former fitness entrepreneur, (I owned 36 aerobic fitness centers for the first 10 years of my business life and Atlanta Sports & Fitness Magazine for the next nine years) I am somewhat of an expert when it comes to assessing fitness classes. I took the Core Barre class at West Coast Workout taught by owner, Tammy Stokes at her new Buckhead location. It was a challenging, fun and excellent workout. Tammy’s instruction is exceptional…the attention to detail, body positioning, pacing and motivational cues were perfection. The class is well-suited to the over-40 crowd who wants an intense workout without the pounding and pain. It incorporates basic dance, barre and core exercise movement which got my heart pumping. I left with a head-to-toe workout which combined the key ingredients for core strength, flexibility and endurance. I loved it and and look forward to trying more of Tammy’s signature classes.
