Sunday Night Dinner

When I hit the grocery, I tend to stock up on clearance meats and $1.99 chicken at Kroger. Last week, I eyed a whole chicken that was on clearance. I couldn’t decide how I want to cook it:  as a beer can chicken on the grill, slow cook it or roast it in the oven? Since it is ridiculously hot out, I decided I didn’t feel like grilling and started to look through a new app I downloaded on my phone called “ DinnerSpinner.” At first, I was looking for something to concoct in the slow cooker, so I wouldn’t have to put much work into it, but then I stumbled upon a recipe for a bacon-wrapped chicken, and since bacon makes everything better, I was sold. The other items for the dinner were hash browns (nothing special, I just wanted them with cheese and bacon from the chicken), creamed spinach, also a recipe from the app, and a sun-dried tomato dip. The dip was inspired by a night out at an Italian place in Lawrenceville called Luciano’s, which I highly recommend. I guessed on the ingredients the dip contained based of some internet research and the result was fantastic!  Overall, the whole dinner turned out great with tons of compliments to the chef (me!). So, I think I am going to try and make a routine of trying to make something totally new on Sundays try and If you like to cook as much as I do, nothing makes you feel as good to know that people actually like what you cook up for them. Later!
