Packed with Omega-3 fatty acids, this fatty fish is not only delicious, but good for you as well. According to the American Heart Association recommendation, adults should be eating two servings of fish high in Omega-3 fatty acids per week as it’s said to help protect against heart disease and promote health skin and joints.
As healthy (and delicious) as this fish is, it seems unlikely that a movie about these fish would be so inspiring. If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, Salmon Fishing in Yemen does not in fact teach hopeful fishermen how to catch these fish in a foreign country, as the title might imply.
Instead this story takes the audience on a journey of self-discovery where the two main characters (Emily Blunt and Ewan McGregor) question the progress of their lives and what they need to do to find happiness. The story pits these two against each other; Blunt the ever-hopeful consultant who believes the endeavor of bringing salmon fishing to Yemen will work despite the odds and McGregor, a fisheries expert who finds himself, unwillingly at first, drawn into the project despite his obvious reservations. They both find a certain light and hope in their lives that they had no idea was missing in the first place.
This movie is a must for anyone who has ever had a crazy idea, been told it was impossible, but followed their heart and passion anyway. Even if you’ve never cast a rod, this story will resonate with you, don’t miss it!
