Freeze Your Fat Away in 2015

The New Year traditionally rings in with personal resolutions to improve some aspect of our lives. This often results in promises to improve healthful living habits including exercise and nutritious diet. These healthful daily routines contribute greatly to wellness, personal success and appearance. Despite our best efforts, many times we confront stubborn areas of fat or uneven contours, which detract from the aesthetic effect we have worked so hard to achieve.

CoolSculpting is an FDA-approved method of non-surgical fat reduction and tissue contouring. It effectively eliminates rolls and bulges with no incisions, no anesthesia and no downtime. Fat cells are frozen and destroyed by apoptosis, a natural process for elimination of dead cells without any trauma to the surrounding tissues. Patients can comfortably complete this office treatment in a few hours and return to their regular activities the following day, expecting to enjoy their fat reduction results in just a few weeks.

CoolSculpting results are best when performed at a center where the physician and staff are fully trained in assessment and treatment techniques, preferably at Zeltiq's CoolSculpt University program. Adding a nutrition program and fitness counseling, along with body composition monitoring, can further enhance results and optimize appearance, health and success.

Say Goodbye to Unwanted Fat With Coolsculpting

You’re physically fit and your weight is stable. You maintain a healthy diet and lifestyle. But no matter how much you exercise or count calories, you still have lumps, bumps and bulges you can’t get rid of. This doesn’t seem to warrant a surgical procedure, but you’ve certainly been tempted…

If this sounds familiar, CoolSculpting may be the solution for you.

This revolutionary, FDA-cleared procedure uses a precisely controlled cooling method called Cryolipolysis to target, cool and eliminate fat cells without damage to neighboring tissue. Once the cooling goes to work, you’ll feel pressure and intense cold, but this quickly dissipates. It is common for people to spend this time reading, working on their laptop or taking a nap.

After this hour-long procedure, your body goes to work, and over the next two months the cystallized fat cells break down and they are naturally flushed from your body. You may start to see changes as quickly as three weeks after your treatment, and will experience the most dramatic results after two months.

If this has you convinced, call 404-296-8000 for a free consultation and to learn more about the benefits of CoolSculpting.

The facts about CoolSculpting

What is CoolSculpting, and how is it different from other fat removal procedures?
CoolSculpt is a unique treatment for removing fat that utilizes a chiller to cause a breakdown of the fat cells without harming the skin. Instead of suctioning out fat cells, CoolSculpt produces a subsequent death of the fat cells, which is then metabolized away by the body in a very safe way. There is no need for anesthesia, puncturing of the skin, post treatment pain management or compression garments. While not a substitute for liposuction, it can give excellent contouring for those resistant pooches that bother us.

What are the most common areas to be treated?
The upper and lower abdomen, muffin tops, waist, bra fat, back fat, love handles, and “mommy pooches.”

What does CoolSculpting feel like?
There is a sensation of pulling that feels slightly uncomfortable for the first 5 to10 minutes, then it begins to numb from the chilling and is very comfortable.

Is there any recovery or downtime after the procedure?
The skin may show a slight bruising from the suction, and you can feel an ongoing numbness for up to two weeks.

Are there any side effects from CoolSculpting?
We have seen some slight swelling afterward that lasts a few days post treatment, but there are virtually no negative side effects.

baHow quickly do people see results?
Many report seeing changes in as little as 3 to 4 weeks, but the full benefit may take as long as 60 to 90 days.

How long do the results last?
Once the fat cells are frozen and subsequently metabolized away, the results are permanent. However, big holiday binges and lack of exercise can make you gain in other fat cells. Some people may need to retreat stubborn areas after 60 days to get additional reductions.

The Skinny on CoolSculpting

Q: Who is an ideal candidate for CoolSculpting?
An ideal candidate is within 10 to 15 pounds of their desired weight, but has a problem area that won’t go away with diet and exercise.

Q: What are the benefits of CoolSculpting by Zeltiq?
Unlike other fat removal procedures, this is non-invasive, so patients can reduce fat from their problem areas without the risks associated with surgical procedures. There is no anesthesia, no needles, and no downtime, so patients can return to their normal activities immediately.

Q: How is the procedure done?
We attach a non-invasive suction applicator, similar to a vacuum, to the indicated area. This applicator draws the adipose tissue and breaks down the fat cells by extracting heat, cooling the tissue, and killing these fat cells. Over the next two to four months, the body gradually eliminates these fat cells, which reduces the thickness of the fat layer

Q: Is CoolSculpting painful?
The first five minutes of the procedure can be a little uncomfortable, but not unbearable. We have yet to see a patient feel too uncomfortable.

IllustrationQ: How quickly do people see results?
Many patients see results within three to four weeks. Most patients see about 70 percent of their results within six to eight weeks, and 100 percent of their results within four to five months.

Q: Is there any maintenance or follow-up with CoolSculpting?
The results are expected to last as long as the results our patients would get from liposuction. To achieve even more reduction in fat, patients may have another treatment in the same area two to four months after their initial treatment.

Q: What should people look for in a doctor who offers CoolSculpting?
Find out if the doctor is a board certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon. If it is not the doctor who performs the procedure, ask who will be doing it, make sure they are licensed and certified, and ask if the doctor is onsite while the procedure is being performed. Make sure you fill out a consent form, and that they ask you questions about your health, your medications, and any other medical history.
