Who is the typical candidate for your Natural Weight Loss program?
Anyone who wants to lose excess weight and improve their health is a candidate for our Natural Weight Loss program. It is especially helpful for those who have been trying to lose weight through fad diets and are unsure of the correct way of losing extra pounds.
How is an analysis of a person’s current diet performed?
On the initial evaluation, we truly dig in to each person’s diet and lifestyle. We ask a ton of questions pertaining to what time they wake up in the morning, what and how frequently they are eating throughout the day, how long they are sleeping throughout the night and if they are exercising or not. Sometimes we will also do a micronutrient test to look for vitamin and mineral deficiencies so that we may optimize the body’s performance and energy levels, or an ALCAT food/substance intolerance test to see if certain food may be causing inability to lose weight.
What are a few things we can do to
increase our metabolism?
The biggest key is to eat! Never skip breakfast and eat approximately every three hours. In doing so, you will stimulate your metabolism and keep it going throughout the day.
When diet and exercise don’t solve a person’s weight issues, what other underlying issues do you look for?
We may also look into hormones, adrenal fatigue and thyroid testing to see if there is an underlying issue that may be contributing to inability to lose weight.
What are some common mistakes people make that could be sabotaging their weight loss program?
Most often, individuals will skip meals, especially breakfast, which then leads them to indulge in larger meals throughout the day. This can also have a huge effect on blood sugar levels and hormones, causing someone to binge on processed carbohydrates and sugary foods. This is a disaster for someone trying to lose weight.
What are some healthy habits we can all adopt that will yield a healthier lifestyle?
We recommend natural, real food. Aim for five fruits and vegetables a day, lean proteins and whole grains. Include exercise most days of the week, and focus on eight glasses of water daily. Avoiding all processed foods is also advised.
