Q: What types of treatment are available for back and neck pain that don’t involve surgery?

A: There are many different ways to treat spinal pain. However, 95 percent can be done non-surgically. In addition to medications and physical therapy, other options available include in-office injections, spine procedures like epidural injections, acupuncture and newer treatments like prolotherapy (which involves injecting a non-pharmacological and non-active irritant solution into the body) and PRP (platelet-rich plasma) injection therapy.
