Day 26 of Healthy, Beautiful Skin: ThermiSmooth Body for cellulite reduction and skin tightening at Amachi Med Spa

No matter how many squats I’ve done, I have never seen a noticeable difference in the cellulite on the back of my thighs. I was so excited to try ThermiSmooth Body, a revolutionary treatment from Amachi Med Spa. The procedure uses targeted radio frequency waves to reduce the appearance of cellulite and tighten the skin. It’s the same technology that is used for facial tightening treatments just on a larger scale.

I was lucky enough to have spa director Majeedah Id-Deen (or MJ as she is known around the location) administer my treatment. She is a certified aesthetician and has been working with a variety of lasers to perform everything from skin tightening to fat and cellulite reduction on her patients.

To get ready for the treatment, I put on my Amachi Med Spa robe and got belly down on the bench. A black panel was placed against the skin on my stomach so the machine could run its radio frequency current continuously from the device through the body and back again.

Overall, the treatment just felt like a warm massage. MJ made sure to keep the stroke pattern different (sometimes circular, sometimes up and down) so the machine never got too hot. What’s great about this machine is that it has a programmable setting to control the temperature. So once that is set, it will never go above a certain degree. The temps are based on a patient’s needs, which keeps the person comfortable and takes away the possibility of burning.

The treatment is usually done in six different sessions with about a month of time in between each one. Clients will start to see results after the first three sessions and the tightening and fat reduction is estimated to last about 18 months.
