Give A Lift Foundation's 2nd Annual Fundraising Gala on May 7 – Not to be missed!

Guest Blogger: Todd Wilson

Are you grateful for what you’ve got? Your family? Your partner? Your health? Your job? It’s important to stop, even for a brief moment, to think about the things that make us happy and keep us rooted, because these things can be taken from us. A job loss, a serious illness – these and many other events can change our fortunes overnight. Even in our beautiful, vibrant, prosperous city, there are thousands who are struggling for even the most basic comforts.

Give a Life Foundation, founded right here in Atlanta, is trying to help people in our community who are struggling with these basic needs. Our goal is to give people the resources they need to lift themselves out of poverty – helping them access affordable health care, job training, low-interest business loans, and much more.

Our Second Annual Fundraising Gala, this Saturday, May 7, is our biggest fundraising event of the year. It’s a celebration for those of us who are grateful for what we have, and a reminder that there are many among us who are struggling just to survive. From incredible silent auction items - such as a Beaver Creek ski package and a one-on-one session with basketball great Hakeem Olajuwon – to a wonderful dinner and entertainment at the majestic Ritz-Carlton Downtown, the Gala is genuinely a great event for a great cause.

This year, Give a Lift is thrilled to have Best Self Atlanta Magazine as our exclusive media sponsor for the event. We’re planning an even more exciting event than last year, and Best Self Atlanta has been a huge part of that effort. The Gala is truly an opportunity to “look good, feel good and do good” in our community – and we hope you’ll join us this weekend to be a part of it.
