Kaiser Permanente Focuses on Women’s Total Health

Kaiser Permanente offers women access to physicians who specialize in caring for their bodies.
Dr. Joye K. Lowman is double board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology, as well as female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery.

Lowman, who oversees Kaiser Permanente of Georgia's urogynecology program, helps women deal with sensitive medical issues that impact their quality of life—from incontinence to pelvic organ prolapse. Her primary goal is to ensure that every woman who enters her exam room feels comfortable talking about her symptoms and leaves knowing that she has a partner in her health care.

Whether it's educating other doctors on the latest in hormone therapy or conducting research on treatments for medical conditions impacting the pelvic floor, Lowman is a true advocate for women's health. She is passionate about providing her patients with individualized, coordinated care, which is why she joined Kaiser Permanente's integrated health care system.

Health care teams are connected through an electronic medical record system that provides a patient's complete medical history, enabling physicians to make informed decisions and provide higher quality care. In fact, Kaiser Permanente of Georgia has been recognized by J.D. Power and Associates for leading health plans in member satisfaction in the South Atlantic region.
